The paper focus on the ephemeral apparatus realized by the architect Salvatore Attinelli on the occasion of the funeral of Charles III of Bourbon, to be set up inside the cathedral of Palermo, in those years affected by a total internal modernization based on the project commissioned in 1767 to Ferdinando Fuga. This study proposes some reflections on the relationship between the Cathedral of Palermo and the urban portion where it is placed, in relation to the indissoluble connection with the landscape that in the history offered a variety of perceptive suggestions marked by the passage and the coexistence of different cultural and social domination. The present study offers some reflections on the relationship between the cathedral of Palermo and the urban area in which it insists, regarding the indissoluble link with the landscape aspect that through the history offered a variety of perceptive suggestions, marked by the passage and presence of different dominations. The cognitive storytelling of the cathedral of Palermo is obtained through a graphic study on routes which provided of multiple images keeping the scar of time in the elaboration of orographic sections and perspective views and highlighting the role of perception in this changing combination of architecture and landscape.
